Make A Difference, Help Pakistan's Flood Victims

Until Sept.12 the Federal Government will match all donations to help the more than 20 million people suffering from the horrific floods in Pakistan. Please donate any amount, no matter how small, to really make a difference during this horrible disaster. You can donate here at or any other of the major charities’ websites.

The floods in Pakistan have not been in the media as much as they deserve, yet by every measure the crisis is the worst recent natural disaster. Over 20 million people have been affected by the floods, 4 million of them are children. The UN reports that the Pakistan floods have caused greater damage and affected more people than the combined total of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake.

Though Pakistan is on the other side of the world and it has a different culture and besides the fact that these are people like me and you who need our help, we need to donate to show the Pakistani people and others in the region that Canada is the great caring country we all know it to be. The help we give today will be forever impressed upon the region, not just in rebuilding millions of lost homes, but in rebuilding Pakistan’s relationship with the West.

Please donate any amount and in doing so you won't just be helping humanitarian efforts, you'll be helping to show how much of a caring nation Canada truly is.

Just out of curiosity.. where are the constant warnings of corruption that were ever present on the Karzai government? Since we all accept that the taliban were a product or aided by the Pakistan secret service, do we expect them all to yield to a higher, humanitarian purpose and let aid money flow through?

I was thinking this was a terrific opportunity to get free and clear airspace over Pakistan and start flooding aid and "Reconnaissance" through predator drones. Average people would get aid and help from the free world and terrorist supporters would get hellfire from above. It's a win/win in the hearts and minds dept.
