Was Garfield Insensitive To Remembrance Day?

Straight out of today's newspaper, is a "stupid" spider taunting death by believing it will have "an annual Day of Remembrance" insensitive to our day of national mourning? You be the judge.

To me its Garfield, the lasagna-loving, Monday-hating, fat feline that I've read ever since I was a child, the comic strip was always benign, but in reading this comic strip today, I just have a feeling that maybe Jim Davis, the creator, should have waited a few days before publishing this one.
